If you are tired of attaching your worth to a number on the scale, the endless pursuit of a smaller dress size, of trying diet after diet, and never feeling satisfied with food – this is perfect for you. I can help you to ditch the diet mentality, rebuild trust in your body, and honour your health while creating a more positive body image and actually get enjoyment out of eating again!

I use an Intuitive Eating approach, which has over 125 studies demonstrating its efficacy in improving health and wellbeing, including reduced risk of CVD, binge eating, emotional eating and other disordered eating behaviours, reduced blood lipids and blood pressure, and improved self-esteem, resilience, dietary variety, enjoyment from food, and life satisfaction.

If you are a seasoned dieter, I know this sounds terrifying. But if you are ready to begin the living the rest of your life, free from the rule of diet culture, and are ready to see what you’re made of when you’re not chasing a smaller body – please get in touch!

I whole-heartedly believe eating well is one of the most powerful tools we have to help us live our best lives. However, we live in a time where we have instant access to a plethora of information – whether it be from Dr Google, Instagram influencers, YouTube “health” gurus or elsewhere. Your best efforts to seek the answer to what it means to “eat well” is quickly met with an overwhelming amount of conflicting advice. Well-intentioned as it may (or may not) be, there is no shortage of misinformation spread about nutrition.

Importantly, there truly is no “one size fits all” approach. We are all unique; our bodies have different needs, we have different agendas, goals, lifestyles, and each individual responds differently to the same eating pattern.

I can help assess your individual needs, along with your goals, lifestyle and budget to optimise YOUR health through food. I follow a non-diet approach based on basic Intuitive Eating principles, however in this programme I focus more on nutrition education, outward eating behaviours and food choices.

IBS is a condition that is thought to affect at least 1 in 10 of us. Many experience only mild symptoms that can be self-managed, however for others symptoms can be severe and interfere with daily life. This is where support from a Registered Dietitian can really help. While IBS consultations are available on the NHS, waiting lists can be unbearably long if you need help now.

It’s often the simple changes that have the biggest impact, but it can be difficult to know where to start. I can provide guidance and support to come up with a tailored plan.

I am also trained in the Low FODMAP Diet, which has shown to be effective in those with  severe IBS that has not responded to first line treatment. This is a complex approach that should be undertaken under the support of a trained dietitian.

I am not a medical doctor, therefore I cannot diagnose IBS. In order to avail of my IBS service, you will need a diagnosis from your GP. If you don’t already, I can suggest investigation from your GP to help.

If you have any other gut-related issues please get in touch. Alternatively if you want to improve general gut health, you can avail of my “Nutrition Optimisation” service  – our gut is complex and is massively important on overall health so I would be happy to help.

Coeliac disease is an autoimmune condition where your immune system attacks the lining of your intestine when you consume gluten. This causes a range of symptoms which vary in presentation and severity from person to person, but generally includes gastrointestinal pain, bloating, wind, and altered bowel motions. Proper management of coeliac disease essential for health, regardless of how minor your symptoms may be. Poor management leads to nutrient malabsorption and risk of deficiencies. This can result in unintentional weight loss, osteoporosis (brittle bones) or anaemia – all of which can interfere with ability to live your best and healthiest life! Adherence to a strict gluten free diet can reduce risk of these complications, as well as certain cancers which are linked to coeliac disease.

If you need additional support on how to follow a gluten-free diet, and advice on additional nutritional considerations to optimise health, I can help! Most people will only require one or two assessments, however I am flexible in providing additional consultations depending on the level of support needed.

I am not a medical doctor, therefore I cannot diagnose coeliac disease. In order to avail of my coeliac disease service, you will need a diagnosis from your GP.

If fitness & performance are your goals, you cannot ignore nutrition. Our eating habits work hand-in-hand with training and ensure you are supplying your body with the nutrients it needs to optimise strength, performance and recovery.

I can provide an assessment to identify your nutritional needs based on your training and goals, identify key areas for improvement, and develop a personalised nutrition programme that is tailored for your lifestyle to help you get the most out of your training and maximise fitness and overall health.

I follow a non-diet approach based on basic Intuitive Eating principles, however, in this programme, I focus more on nutrition education, outward eating behaviours and food choices.

Prices for this programme differ from the other 1:1 services as it follows a different format. Please see below.

“Plant-based” is an umbrella term that describes any diet that is primarily focused on foods derived from plant sources, as opposed to animal. Over the last decade, more and more people are reducing their consumption of meat and other animal products (even becoming 100% plant-based), quoting concern for animal welfare, the environment, or physical health as their main reasons for doing so.

While you may not wish to give up your steak for good just yet (or ever), reducing your total consumption of animal produce can play a huge role in reducing your carbon footprint and contributing toward looking after our planet. Studies also show that a diet predominantly built on whole plant foods is one of the best ways to optimise health through diet.

However, making this transition isn’t always easy and it is important to ensure you are meeting your nutritional needs. A plant-based diet is not automatically “healthy”, particularly if it based on processed options.

Whether you are an established or new plant-based eater looking to optimise your diet, or simply want to shift towards a diet higher in plants (without totally eliminating animal-based products), I can help provide you with confidence in consuming a well-planned, balanced, and nutritionally adequate diet right for your needs and lifestyle.

Whether you are a small food business, nursing home owner, or caterer, there is increased demand from government and customers to have access to the nutrition information of menus. Providing this information can help promote your business, comply with legislation, and offer the very best to your service users.  Offered services include:
  • Analysis of recipe(s) or menu item(s) using nutritional analysis software
  • Suggestions of key nutrients to include in nutritional summary depending on intended audience
  • Feedback & guidance on adaptations to improve nutrition profile or meet demands of target market
  • Provide advice on allergen declarations, eligible nutrition or health claims
  • And more – please get in contact to discuss.

Fees available on request & vary depending on work required – i.e. number of recipes, complexity and whether additional feedback is desired.

It is the responsibility of any good employer to play their part in looking after the health and wellbeing of their employees. Not only do healthy employees show higher levels of job satisfaction, studies consistently show they have higher levels of productivity, engagement, innovation, lower levels of absenteeism, and higher resilience to stress – a significant driver of poor health.

With the increased pressure on companies to perform better than ever, workplace wellness is not a futile effort made for appearances’ sake by the HR department. It is an integral part of a strong business strategy that is built to last.

Over a third of our waking hours are spent at work. Therefore, the workplace is the ideal setting to introduce healthy change. Studies have demonstrated that workplace wellness programmes can promote healthy behaviours amongst staff and, as a result, improve health outcomes. The return on investment for employers is clear, with significant cost savings due to sickness leave, higher employee retention rates, and higher levels of productivity.

Employees with a poor diet are 66% more likely to have low productivity at work than those with a nutritionally dense diet. A healthy diet is also a critical modifiable risk factor for high blood pressure, blood cholesterol and blood glucose – all of which influence levels of absenteeism.

I can help make your workplace a more motivated, happier and healthier environment by providing a tailored nutrition education package. I can empower your staff by providing them with the tools to make healthier choices to their diet in a way that is realistic, enjoyable and sustainable.

This can include brief 1:1 consultations and/or group education, either as a one-off or over a set timeframe. Please also see my Menu Analysis service which can be availed of for workplace canteens – feedback and practical advice can be offered to improve the healthfulness of your canteen options.

Please get in touch to discuss further. Final price will be based upon the nature and extent of work required and will be quoted prior to the service.

sport nutrition plans

There are multiple aspects to be considered in order to improve performance, but nutrition is a big one. Simply, sports performance cannot be optimised without ensuring you (or your team) is eating the right nutrition. However, it can be challenging to navigate this on your own in a way that fully encapsulates all your needs- nutritional adequacy, meal timing, pre- and post-workout nutrition, and practicality.

I can work with individuals or teams to help with just that. Based on your training schedule, goals and current baseline, I will devise an individualised nutrition plan that is built around you or your team.

My Basic Sports Package includes:

  • Initial consultation via Zoom – this will focus on education on sports nutrition specific to your sport, and gathering details to finalise your plan
  • Individualized nutrition plan, which includes:
    • Your nutritional targets (calculated based on training, goals etc)
    • Example meal plans
    • “How-To” on meal timing and structuring your own meals to allow flexibility while ensuring optimised nutrition
    • Meal & snack  ideas (including for pre- and post- workout)
  • Up to three 10-15 minute check-in/review sessions

Additional packages are available to include 24/7 text support and/or more in-depth review sessions – these may be required depending on your sport and needs.

Please get in touch to discuss further. Final price will be based upon the nature and extent of work required and will be quoted prior to the service. Prices start at £200 (Basic Sports Package).

Our food choices have a powerful influence on body functioning, risk of disease, and getting the best out of life. However, decades of “wellness culture” from magazines, television, and now social media, has skewed our view of what a healthy diet is, and has become wrongly entangled with the thin ideal. Fad diets, pseudoscience, and misinformation are rife, and for many, this constant pressure to be smaller, eat less, deprive harder has taken the joy right out of eating.

I believe that we are made for so much more than chasing a smaller number on the scale. I believe that a healthy diet is one that doesn’t make us feel deprived, but thrive. I believe that enjoying food is of as much importance to health as getting your greens. Having very real first-hand experience of a disordered relationship with food, I know what it’s like to feel I’ve lost touch with how to eat when I’m not restricting; I know what it’s like to never feel worthy until I’m a size smaller.

I am absolutely passionate about people realising their worth – that it is something totally unrelated to how you look or how much you weigh.

This is what underpins everything that I do. I want to help you feel your best by equipping you with the knowledge and tools to make healthier choices to your diet in a way that never compromises taste, satisfaction or pleasure, so you are looking after your whole self.

If you resonate with any of this, or want to improve your education or relationship with food with a non-diet approach, I would love you to get in touch.

testimonials

I sought help from Katie during my pregnancy as I was very unsure of what to eat to support both myself and the baby. Katie was incredibly approachable and helpful, taking time to listen to and answer all my questions (no matter how silly!) throughout my entire pregnancy and offered me great advice and diet plans tailored to my needs (and allergies!). I felt confident in what Katie was advising and felt healthy and well fed through my pregnancy. I still use Katie’s recipes now – would absolutely recommend!
